DI and Orlando Health Collaborate on Video-Based Coaching
Orlando Health has agreed to a co-development effort under which they will become the first healthcare adopter of DI’s IMITATE product. IMITATE is a video based coaching application where a trainee is able to video tape their performance and coaches provide time-stamped feedback during live performance or from stored video.
The co-development agreement is unique as DI will be developing the product with direct input from human resource leadership, end users (trainees and coaches), and modelling and simulation staff to suit employee development needs and meet information technology requirements at Orlando Health.
DI will not only engage Orlando Health subject matter experts during development, but both parties will conduct a pilot evaluation of IMITATE within the leadership department and demonstrate improvement on key performance indicators.
IMITATE consists of three components: prepare, practice and assess. The prepare module allows trainees to view exemplar videos of performance, both good and poor representations of expected behaviors. Trainees can then practice their own performance, capturing video for a coach to evaluate them on a corporate approved competency model. The assessment module visualizes the feedback, allowing the trainee to view their performance, compare themselves to peers, and receive guidance for improvement.
The product is positioned to support interpersonal behaviors including teaching/instruction and bedside manner of clinicians. Other relevant applications include training managers on performing performance feedback reviews, sales training or public speaking.
DI is excited to work with the fantastic leadership of Orlando Health on this initiative.
