DI’s Fidopiastis to be featured at I/ITSEC
Design Interactive’s Chief Scientist Dr. Cali Fidopiastis will be a featured panelist at I/ITSEC discussing Big Data. The “Big Data Demystified” panel at the 2017 I/ITSEC Conference panel, hosted by the Central Florida Chapter of Women In Defense and sponsored by Boeing, will consist of experts from government, industry and academia. Dr. Fidopiastis and the esteemed group will dive into what big data is and why it’s important for the future of training and education.
Dr. Fidopiastis is Chief Scientist at Design Interactive and a member of the Extended Realities team where she explores the use of augmented, virtual and mixed reality technologies for use in training and education. An expert in data modelling, Dr. Fidopiastis examines how data mining techniques can be used to uncover root causes of performance deficiencies and drive automated adaptions in presentation of virtual and augmented content. She currently leads the development of a mixed reality medical training application and the creation of an experimental testbed to predict human visual performance from chosen head worn displays for military and industrial use cases. Her goal is to accelerate trainees to competency and, when applied to the military medical domain, this means saving lives.
You can catch Dr. Fidopiastis on this panel and also at DI’s booth at I/ITSEC. DI will be exhibiting in booth 1862 and showcasing AUGMENTOR, an augmented reality troubleshooting application. DI experts will also be on hand to discuss ongoing research and applications of our patented physiological classifier of stress (Operational Stress Index, U.S. Patent No. 9,801,553 ) currently being leveraged in multiple military and first responders efforts. Also on hand will be Dr. Brent Winslow, who will be available to discuss our recently concluded work creating a predictive cybersickness class ifier (PCSI). The PCSI is used in support of DI’s cybersickness evaluative services to optimize virtual, augmented and mixed reality experiences.
