March 3rd, 2017
On March 3rd and 4th, DI will be showcasing their virtual solution for teaching kids with cerebral palsy to walk at the 2017 Make It Possible! Abilities Tech Expo. DI’s game-based solution uses a virtual environment and tracks the number of steps taken and time to walk over a set distance. Kids can then compete against their previous scores or against their friends. DI believes that by leveraging an immersive technology and adopting a game-based approach, children are more likely to remain engaged and provide a fun alternative to existing teaching methods. DI will also be showcasing its award winning, upper-limb amputee training game ADAPT-MP.
The tech expo is organized by CECO (Conductive Education Center of Orlando) and provides children and adults with motor disabilities unique solutions to achieve greater independence at home, at school, in the workplace, in vehicles and outside. The expo consists of technology demonstrations from numerous companies, including Disney and Microsoft, on how their solutions can improve the lives of people with disabilities. The Abilities Expo is at the Orlando Science Center and the event is open to the public. For more information visit the event website.
