
DI Adds Lieutenant Colonel James Cooper to Lead XR Team
Design Interactive, Inc. (DI) announced today that Lieutenant Colonel James “Coop” Cooper will be joining the firm as the new Extended Reality (XR) Division Head. As a well-respected leader in military modeling and simulation, James brings more than three decades of experience in military operations and training systems development. DI expects he will make an immediate impact on current and future XR projects and products.

Raised in Central Florida, James enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1987 and has recently retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. Over the course of his military career, James implemented Air Force Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) policy and compatibility standards. With a passion for developing the next generation of Air Force leaders, James spent most of his career ensuring special mission aircraft teams were combat ready to meet our Nation’s needs, thus making him the perfect fit to lead DI’s XR Division. Additionally, James has also worked with coalition partners to modernize and develop their militaries. This included managing Foreign Military Sales at the U.S. Embassy in Manama, Bahrain, assisting the Polish Air Force establish jet fighter maintenance practices, and coordinating international military operations in the Horn of Africa.
As the new XR Division Head, James intends to bring a unique perspective that will allow the team to continue expanding its development of cutting-edge XR training software solutions.
