DI’s OSI algorithm featured as I/ITSEC highlight
During the 2017 I/ITSEC Conference, the world’s largest modeling, simulation and training conference, DI’s OSI algorithm was featured during coverage of the event. United Press International (UPI), a global news provider, highlighted the algorithm during their coverage of the event. The article highlights OSI’s ability to optimize training by determining if trainees are undergoing adequate and appropriate levels of stress.
The OSI algorithm uses wearable physiological sensors to stream real-time, raw physiological data. The data is then processed immediately on a mobile device or within the wearable biosensor and then compared to a previously established baseline. Stress levels are then visualized on a mobile application for after action review.
OSI has already been used in the USMC Infantry Small Unit Leader’s Course to predict individual resilience to stress, including the impact stress had on physiological reactivity and performance. The algorithm has also been used for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for PTSD, in which patients were less likely to discontinue therapy and significantly improved on measures of stress, anxiety and anger in comparison to patients undergoing standard CBT.
