IMITATE

Behavior-Based Performance Optimization Tool

What it is

IMITATE is a behavior-based performance optimization tool that accelerates skill acquisition in any context by providing adaptive, personalized instruction, standardized assessments, and guided, video-enhanced performance review. IMITATE employs a three-phase training approach – Prepare, Practice, Assess – to rapidly build expertise, reduce training costs, and accelerate readiness.

How It Works

IMITATE allows for the creation and use of customized, context-specific assessments to support live or video-based evaluation and structured after-action review of proficiency for individuals and teams. IMITATE supports self-reflection and modeling of expert behaviors by linking scores to observable, time-stamped performance and provides data-driven, personalized instruction to address diagnosed deficits.

Prepare

Introductory video-based observation and training that identifies the key performance areas and behaviors and illustrates expert performance.

Practice

Learners practice their skills while receiving standardized, behavior-based assessment through an intuitive rating tool that provides observers with guidance on how to rate, which promotes consistency between observers.

Assess

Results are captured and displayed for immediate, actionable, and structured feedback. A video-based after-action review offers session playback paired with time-synced ratings to highlight effective or ineffective performance. Built-in analytics enable performance comparisons between individuals and groups over time.

Widely applicable and customizable to military, academic, medical, and industrial settings
